About Diu
The Portuguese ruled Diu until 1961, and the town still shows it: a massive sea fort, Baroque churches and narrow lanes of colourful houses. Most visitors come for a relaxed weekend of beaches and seafood.
Diu is connected to the mainland by road near Una. From Rajkot it's about five hours by taxi, and Somnath and Sasan Gir are close enough to combine.
