Shri Ram Janmabhoomi

Ayodhya yatra.

Ayodhya, the birthplace of Shri Ram, has become one of India's most visited pilgrimages since the consecration of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir.

Why pilgrims come here

The grand Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir, built in the Nagara style, is the centre of every visit. Pilgrims also climb to Hanuman Garhi, visit Kanak Bhawan and bathe at the Saryu ghats.

From Rajkot, Ayodhya is a very long road journey. Many families fly or take a train; others prefer one vehicle and driver throughout, often combining Ayodhya with Prayagraj and Varanasi.

Darshan & aarti tips

  • Darshan at the Ram Mandir runs in set time slots through the day; check the official trust website for current timings and any passes.
  • Phones and bags are generally not allowed inside; deposit facilities are available.
  • Ram Navami and Deepotsav (Diwali) draw enormous crowds.

Timings change. Temple timings vary with seasons and festivals. Always confirm the day's darshan and aarti schedule with the temple's official sources before you travel. We'll plan your departure around it.

  1. Days 1–3Rajkot to Ayodhya by road with two overnight halts (for example Udaipur/Jaipur and Agra/Lucknow).

  3. Days 5–6Optional Prayagraj and Varanasi.
  4. Days 7–9+Return journey with halts.

This is a long journey from Rajkot. Many families fly or take a train for the long leg; others prefer one car and driver throughout. We plan daily driving limits and overnight halts so the yatra stays comfortable. Interstate permits and tolls are listed in the quote.

Travelling with elders

Most of our pilgrimage journeys include parents or grandparents, so we plan for their comfort first.

  • Rest and meal stops planned for elders
  • Drop points close to temple entrances where allowed
  • Plans built around darshan and aarti timings
  • Patient drivers who help with luggage

FAQ

Ayodhya: questions.

How far is Ayodhya from Rajkot by road?

Roughly 1,450–1,550 km, about three days of comfortable driving each way.

Can you plan an Ayodhya–Kashi road yatra?

Yes. We plan long yatras with daily driving limits and halts, covering Ayodhya, Prayagraj and Varanasi.

Is it better to fly to Ayodhya?

For a short trip, flying or taking a train is faster. A road yatra suits groups who want to travel together in one vehicle.

Which vehicle is best for such a long trip?

An Innova Crysta for families; an Urbania or Tempo Traveller for groups.
