About Kutch & the White Rann
The Great Rann of Kutch is a seasonal salt marsh. After the monsoon water evaporates, it turns into a brilliant white desert, especially beautiful at sunset and under a full moon. The Rann Utsav, a festival with a tent city at Dhordo, usually runs through the winter months.
Beyond the Rann are the Harappan ruins of Dholavira (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), the Kala Dungar viewpoint, the beach town of Mandvi, and dozens of villages known for their embroidery and handicrafts. Bhuj is the natural base.
